“ECONOMICS FOR ECOLOGY” conference (EU practices for sustainable economy implementation within Industries 4.0 and 5.0)

On May 16-19, 2023, the International scientific and practical online conference “ECONOMICS FOR ECOLOGY” (EU practices for sustainable economy implementation within Industries 4.0 and 5.0) was held online within the Jean Monnet Module «EU legislative, economic and social transition to sustainable society» (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR), (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR), headed by Professor Leonid Melnyk.

The conference gathered about 50 scientists, teachers, doctoral students, graduate students, bachelors and business representatives. At the plenary session, scientific community representatives and civil society representatives from Switzerland, Poland, China, Belgium, Denmark, and Ukraine spoke with reports on economic, technological, social, and prospects for fostering sustainable development.

Representatives of several Jean Monnet projects took part in the conference. In particular, Oleksandr Kubatko, Jean Monnet Chair in EU Economic Policy and Civil Society (619878- EPP -1-2020-1- UA – EPPJMO – CHAIR ) and Jean Monet’s module ” Disruptive technologies for sustainable development in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: the EU Experience “, (101083435-DTSDI-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH)

Iryna Uschapovska, Jean Monnet Module “Promoting European practices of education for sustainable development through the language of the brand: interdisciplinary studies” of the EU Erasmus+ program ( 101085708 – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH);

Iryna Sotnyk, Jean Monet module on “Social solidarity economy: implementation of EU experience for sustainable development” ( SSExpEU – 101047518 – GAP-101047518)

Oleksandra Karintseva, Jean Monet module on disruptive technologies for sustainable development in the conditions of industries 4.0 and 5.0: EU experience (101083435 — DTSDI — ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH)

Leonid Melnyk, the main organizer and coordinator of the event, talked about the viral nature of modern industrial revolutions and cited the EU’s best practices regarding forming a sustainable economy that can be used in Ukraine.
