In May 2023, an intensive course on “Basics of SME and start-ups in the EU in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0″ was held for students of the Sumy National Agrarian University.

This course was read as part of the Jean Monnet Chair «EU legislative, economic and social transition to a sustainable society» (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR), headed by Professor Leonid Melnyk. The lecturer of the course was Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Kubatko, who spoke about the peculiarities of starting startups in Ukraine and the EU in the conditions of information society and promotion of achievements of  Industries 4.0 and 5.0.

Oleksandr emphasized the need to develop the startup movement in Ukraine, especially in postwar-recovery conditions. During the discussion, different cases-studies were considered, as well as the main trends of start-up development in the world.

Students actively participated in an open discussion about the timeliness of the development of startups in the conditions of disruptive technologies.

We thank associate professor, Inna Koblyanska, for organizing the opportunity to work with students of economic specialities of the Sumy National Agrarian University.
