Social entrepreneurship in the EU: lessons for Ukraine

In May 2023, an intensive course “Social entrepreneurship: disruptive technologies and EU experience” was provided for students of “Political technologies and analytics”, “Psychology”, “Social work”, “Management of socio-cultural technologies”.
This course was lectured as part of Jean Monet’s module ” Disruptive technologies for sustainable development in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: the EU Experience “, (101083435-DTSDI-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH) (2022– 2025 ) , headed by Iryna Degtyarova. The lecturer of the course was Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Kubatko, who spoke about the peculiarities of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine and the EU. Emphasized the need to develop social entrepreneurship in Ukraine, especially in conditions of post-war recovery. During the discussion, case-studies were considered, as well as the main trends of social entrepreneurship in the EU. Also, the training course shows the role of disruptive technologies for the social and solidarity economy at the stage of transition to sustainable development.
Students actively participated in an open discussion regarding the timeliness of the development of social entrepreneurship in the conditions of the advancement of disruptive technologies.
