In March-April 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University Bohdan Kovalov acted as a trainer of the Business Academy of the regional accelerator UNIDO GCIP for innovations, technologies and startups in the Sumy region.
UNIDO GCIP (The Global Cleantech Innovation Program for SMEs in Ukraine) is a project of the United Nations Organization whose goal is to promote the development of the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem by identifying and supporting innovators and entrepreneurs in clean technologies.
The GCIP Regional Accelerator in Sumy State University was created in 2021 to promote Sumy Oblast innovations, technologies and startups.
During the first session of the accelerator, Bohdan Kovalov focused the participants’ attention on the importance of identifying customer pain and problems, the uniqueness of the product and its advantages, and the features of technologies and intellectual property. During the second session of the accelerator, Bohdan Kovalov revealed the topic of creating effective distribution channels and identifying strategic partners. During the third session of the accelerator, Bohdan Kovalov discussed with the participants the importance of identifying competitors and the factors of competitiveness of one’s own product.
The delivered lectures were partly based on the results of the educational and scientific project of EU Jean Monnet Module which is currently being carried out at the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration – “Youth & Business: EU Practices for Cooperation” (101126538 – YouthBEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH) headed B.
