The department of Economics and Business administration won the Ukrainian-Lithuanian project

A team of the department of Economics and business administration under the direction of Prof. Leonid Melnyk received a funding for two-year grant project “Development of institutional and economic basis for sustainable development and green economy forming at regional level for 2016-2017 years.

The project is implemented under an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on cooperation in science, education and culture. The partner from Republic of Lithuania is Kaunas University of Technology.

The total funding for the SSU will make more than 180 thousand. The main scientific results of the project should be the joint development of the concept of integrated management of the economy during the transition to sustainable development and the formation of appropriate institutional mechanisms, methods and tools at the regional level.

Following the work there would be developed a comprehensive concept of “green” economy forming based on institutional foundations of socio-economic systems and feedback mechanisms with the maximum use of self-reproduction and its structural components.

The Ukrainian side is developing a methodology and tools of institutional and economic evaluation of sustainable development. Lithuanian scientists working on the financial aspects of sustainable development areas.
