Within the conducted research on the formation of renewable energy in the EU, it was found that GDP per capita has a statistically significant and positive impact on the development of renewable energy. In particular, an increase in GDP by 1 000 USD, the share of renewable energy sources in EU member states increases by an average of 0.12%. Similarly, a $1 000 USD increase in GDP per capita leads to a 50 kWh increase in renewable energy consumption per capita. Research on the EU was carried out within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Economic Policies and Civil Society   (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR).
