Iryna Sotnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration, took part in the University Refugee Forum 2023 on Academic Integration: Restoration and Recovery Perspectives, which was held online and in-person at the University of Geneva with the organizational support of the UNI4Refugees Program on December 12, 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. The event brought together refugees: students, teachers and researchers from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Turkey and other countries of the world, as well as representatives of the academic community, state and international organizations of Switzerland. At the event, the challenges faced by refugees regarding the restoration of national institutions and structures in their countries, as well as sustainable solutions to solve them, were discussed. Iryna Sotnyk took part in the discussion and presented her vision of restoration and development of the academic sector of Ukraine under military challenges, its European integration, the role of social and solidarity economy in these processes.
She shared her research results obtained under performing the Jean Monnet Module project “Social solidarity economy: implementation of EU experience for sustainable development” (SSExpEU – 101047518 – GAP-101047518) (2022-2025) with colleagues from other countries and discussed issues related to supporting the scientific community during crisis situations.
