LAUNCH OF THE COURSE “INNOVATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND STARTUPS IN THE EU: EXPERIENCE FOR UKRAINE”

On January 8, 2026, the course “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Startups in the EU (Experience for Ukraine)” officially commenced. More than 30 participants joined the first lectures. In total, 59 participants with diverse professional backgrounds and areas of expertise have registered for the course in 2026.

The course is implemented within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair project “Strengthening EU Leadership and Capacity in Science and Innovation”
(101175767—EU_STRENGHTS—ERASMUS-JMO-2024-HEI-TCH-RSCH), which is funded by the European Union. The project leader and course coordinator is Inna Koblianska, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration at Sumy State University.

The first lectures of the course were delivered by Oleksandr Kubatko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Head of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration at Sumy State University, as well as an expert of the GCIP regional accelerator for innovations, technologies, and startups in the Sumy region, within the UNIDO/GEF project. The lectures presented the architecture of the startup ecosystem in the European Union and Ukraine, as well as case studies of successful startups. Special attention was given to opportunities for entering and developing in the EU market for Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises.

The upcoming academic week foresees an intensive programme. Lectures will be delivered by Vitalii Omelianenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Professor of the Department of Business Economics and Administration at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko, postdoctoral researcher at Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, certified technology manager, and member of the International Project Management Association. The sessions will cover key aspects of establishing, taxation, and scaling startups in the EU, opportunities for attracting investment, and other relevant issues of innovative entrepreneurship.
