Starting the September 2024, the course on “Innovative entrepreneurship and start-ups in the EU for Ukrainian students began. The lecturer of the discipline is Oleksandr Kubatko, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration.
The course aims to provide a perspective on entrepreneurial dynamics, focusing on the EU as a center for innovation and start-ups, and equips students with the essential knowledge and skills to develop start-ups aligned with EU practices.
The course is structured to several topics, including: Introduction to innovative entrepreneurship and EU start-up ecosystem; Ideation and conceptualization in start-up development; EU funding and financing for start-ups; Building and managing a start-up team; Scaling up and internationalization strategies; Scalability considerations and challenges; International market entry strategies and EU-specific consideration; Cross-border regulations, compliance, and risk management; Case studies of successful scale-ups in the EU; Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability in start-ups; Exit strategies and continuous innovation; Establishing a culture of continuous innovation; Post-exit planning, entrepreneurship renewal, and EU experiences; EU innovation policies, emerging trends, and future preparation.
The course provides both lectures and practical classes. Totally 16 hours of lectures and 32 hours of seminars are delivered in two groups of students (totally 49 students).
The course is based on the results of the educational and scientific project Jean Monnet Chair which is currently being carried out at the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration «Strengthening EU Leadership and Capacity in Science and Innovation» (101175767—EU_STRENGHTS—ERASMUS-JMO-2024-HEI-TCH-RSCH) 2024-2027 headed by Inna Koblianska.
