GUEST LECTURE “AI ETHICS IN EDUCATION”: CHALLENGES, PERSPECTIVES, AND RESPONSE STRATEGIES

On March 14, 2025, the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration at Sumy State University hosted a guest lecture on “AI Ethics in Education.” The event featured Dr. Sanjayan T. Suseelan, Assistant Professor and Head of Postgraduate and Research Department in Education, GVMs Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Goa University, Goa, India.

During the lecture, Dr. Suseelan provided an in-depth analysis of the key challenges of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the educational process. Special attention was given to the ethical implications of AI use, risks of algorithmic bias, academic integrity, and data privacy concerns.

The speaker shared India’s experience in implementing AI in education, highlighting successful case studies, legislative initiatives, and the challenges faced in this context. Dr. Suseelan also outlined the global regulatory landscape for AI in education, emphasizing the need to balance innovation with ethical standards.

In the final part of the lecture, strategies for addressing AI-related challenges in education were discussed. These included the role of universities in developing ethical AI policies and preparing students for the realities of digital transformation.

The lecture was attended by students of the 051 Economics, 076 Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities, and 073 Management (Business Administration Program) specializations (groups E-41, E-11, E-21, E-31, E.m.-31, PTB-41, BA.m-42), as well as faculty members of the department and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Business, Economics, and Management.
