On May 27, 2021, the annual International Scientific Conference “Economic Development and Heritage of Semyon Kuznets” took place at Kharkiv National University of Economics named after Semyon Kuznets. The conference was attended by more than 250 scientists from many countries. Traditionally, the scientific heritage of S. Kuznets, the Nobel Laureate in Economics in 1971, the theorist and practice of development economics was actualized at the forum.
At the plenary session of the conference, SSU scientists, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of the Institute of Economics of Development of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration L. Melnyk, and Associate Professor of the same department O. Matsenko with a report “Socio-economic challenges and problems of the modern phase transition.”
The report violated the results of two EU projects of Jean Monnet level “department”, which are currently being implemented by the department:
- “Legislative, economic and social transition of the EU to a sustainable society within Industry 4.0 and 5.0” (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR) (2020–2023), headed by L. Melnyk
