The German scientist, Dr., Professor Niko Shter addressed his Ukrainian colleague, Doctor of Economics, Leonid Melnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EPBA) of Sumy State University, Director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with a request to contribute to the publication in his monograph “Modern Knowledge Societies”. The publication of Niko Shter’s book in Ukraine is the German scientist’s contribution to the reconstruction of our country based on digital technologies. The scientist himself financed the publication of the book in Ukrainian.
The preparation of the book for publication was carried out within the framework of the EU Jean Monet project, which is currently being carried out at the EPBA department of Sumy State University. Scientific editing of the translation into Ukrainian was carried out by Doctor of Economics, Prof. Leonid Melnyk. He also wrote the foreword to the Ukrainian-language edition of the book.
At the author’s request, copies of the book will be given to leading scientists of Ukraine dealing with the transition to a knowledge society and to the best students engaged in scientific work in this field.
At the open house of Sumy State University on April 20, 2024, professor L. Melnyk and the director of the BiEM institute of Sumy State University of Economics, prof. Oleksiy Lyulov handed over the first two books to the best students of the institute, Vladyslav Pivny and Yulia Rozgon, who already have dozens of scientific publications on the topic of digital transformations, including those registered in the SCOPUS and WoS databases.
On that day, books were also received by Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksiy Lyulov and Doctor of Economics, Professor Tetyana Pimonenko, who enriched science with her work in the field of phase transition to a new socio-economic formation.
The book was prepared as a part of Jean Monet’s EU project, which is currently being carried out at the EPBA department “Disruptive technologies for sustainable development in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: the EU Experience” (101083435 — DTSDI — ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH) (2022-2025) headed O.
