EU economy and economic policies

From September 2022, lectures and seminars on the elective discipline “EU Economy and EU Economic Policy” for Sumy State University Students began. The lecturer of the course is Oleksandr Kubatko, associate professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration, head of the European Commission project “Jean Monnet Chair for EU Economic Policy and Civil Society” (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR).

Students would learn opportunities and threats facing firms, both European and foreign-owned, operating within and beyond the boundaries of the Single European Market. Students would also learn normative and empirical facts about the development of European structures, institutions and their impact on economic activity. They also would learn fundamental rules, norms and regulations especially within European common/internal market.
Students would be able to analyze data and facts relating to constructing basic economic indicators and interpretation of key relations between EU structures, rules, laws, business activity and trade. Students would be able to use basic EU terminology to prepare and present theirs essays.
