Department Representatives Participated in a Round Table on Ukraine’s Sustainable Recovery

On December 18, 2025, an inter-university round table titled “Sustainable Development of Ukraine: Pathways to 2030 and Challenges of Post-War Recovery” took place. The event brought together scholars from Sumy State University, Poltava State Agrarian University, Poltava University of Economics and Trade, Sumy National Agrarian University, and Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University.

As part of the event’s program, Iryna Sotnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics and Business Administration at Sumy State University and Doctor of Economics, presented a report titled “Electricity Sector of Ukraine in 2035: From Wartime Losses to Sustainable Recovery.” This report was prepared based on the results of the project “Fundamentals of Sustainable and Inclusive Regional Spatial Development for Post-War Reconstruction in the Context of Digital Transformation” (№ 0125U001620, 2025-2027), which is funded by the state budget of Ukraine.

The report focused on analyzing the impact of military actions on Ukraine’s energy system and substantiating strategic directions for its reconstruction. Specifically, it covered the transition to a low-carbon development model, the implementation of decentralized energy sources, and effective management of recovery costs. During the discussion, participants addressed topical issues of sustainable development and coordinated further scientific cooperation between the universities to develop solutions for the recovery of the national economy.
