On March 18, 2025, the Sumy Regional Scientific Library hosted the traditional Vernadsky Readings, dedicated to the birthday of the outstanding scientist Volodymyr Vernadsky (March 12). This year they were held for the 13th time. The permanent lecturer at all readings is Doctor of Economics Leonid Melnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EPBA) of Sumy State University, Director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the public of the region and the city of Sumy, including schoolchildren and students of educational institutions of the city.
After the lecture, a round table discussion took place on the topical problems of modernity foreseen by the great scientist. In particular, the controversy revolved around the issues: the formation of the noosphere based on the Cloud and artificial intelligence, the cephalization of the evolution of nature in the direction of informational complication of natural entities, the nature of the anti-entropic potential of the Earth and the real prospects for the transition of humanity to its autotrophy.
The lecture used the results of the work within the framework of the EU Jean Monnet project, which is currently being implemented at the Department of EPBA of Sumy State University:
