Vernadsky readings “EU Lessons and Strategies of Forming Sustainable (“Green”) Economy in Ukraine”

In Regional Scientific Library within the framework of Jean Monnet project “Using best EU practices for sustainable economy forming in Ukraine” (UBEUP, 553 185-EPP-1-2014-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) March, 3 there was a meeting of the project manager Dr., Prof. Leonid Melnyk with scientific and educational community of Sumy Region. It was previously reported, the project was supported by a grant from the European Commission.

During the meeting the audience discussed principles of the III Industrial Revolution for the formation of sustainable (“green”) economy in Ukraine: “green” energy; every building – as a source of energy; efficient energy storage; forming InterNet – intelligent power; electrification of transport. Professor Leonid Melnyk donated to the library his new book “Philosophic Tales about Development (complex things in simple way)”, which in a popular form tells much of the above mentioned principles.

The participants actively discussed the problems of sustainable development, sustainable economy formation, implementation of European best practices for forming sustainable economy in Ukraine, etc.. Prof. Leonid Melnyk was asked a lot of questions, both during the lecture and after it.
