The problems of the future are being solved by today’s schoolchildren

During March, 2025, for 11th grade students of Sumy secondary education institution of I–III levels No. 21 of the Sumy City Council, teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration –  Professor Melnyk L.G. and Associate Professor Matsenko O.M. – held lecturing and roundtable discussion titled “Disruptive technologies in the context of Industry 3.0, 4.0, 5.0.”

Associate Professor Matsenko O.M. introduced high school students to the project team “Disruptive Technologies for Sustainable Development in the Context of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: EU Experience”. He presented real cases of disruptive innovations in modern socio-economic systems, focusing on the patterns of their development and life cycles.

As part of the round table, moderated by Associate Professor Matsenko O.M., a lecture by Professor Melnyk L.H. was held. He introduced the students to the latest research by the department’s scientists, conducted within the framework of the project “Disruptive Technologies for Sustainable Development in the Context of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: EU Experience” (101083435-DTSDI-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH), which is implemented with funding from the European Union. Particular attention was paid to future trends and key areas of development of disruptive innovations that transform the socio-economic life of society.

The 11th grade students showed great interest, asked insightful questions, and actively participated in the discussion.
