On May 13, 2025, faculty members and students of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University took an active part in the opening of the 34th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Economics for Ecology” (ISCS 2025). This year’s conference is held online under the general theme “Science for Sustainable and Innovative Europe.”
During the opening ceremony, welcome speeches were delivered by Dr. Sc., Professor Leonid Melnyk, Professor Emmanuel Boon (Ghana), Dr. Sc., Professor Oleksandr Kubatko, and student Maria Dudka.
The plenary session featured presentations by representatives of the academic community from the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Switzerland, and Canada, as well as students from the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration. The presentations covered such pressing topics as:
- the impact of climate policy on energy markets,
- regulation and the influence of artificial intelligence on business,
- EU–Africa relations,
- digital economy development in Asia,
- the use of artificial intelligence in financial and environmental modeling.
The conference served as a platform for sharing the outcomes of Jean Monnet international projects involving department representatives: Jean Monnet Chair “Strengthening EU Leadership and Capacity in Science and Innovation” (101175767—EU_STRENGHTS—ERASMUS-JMO-2024-HEI-TCH-RSCH), Jean Monnet Module “Fostering EU Practices of Education for Sustainable Development through the Brand Language: Interdisciplinary Studies” (101085708—ESDbrandEU—ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH), and Jean Monnet Module “Disruptive technologies for sustainable development in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: the EU Experience” (101083435—DTSDI—ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
Based on the results of the conference, a collection of conference proceedings with assigned DOI will be prepared and published in the SumDU Institutional Repository and Zenodo.
