The 12th Vernad readings at the Sumy Regional Library with the participation of Sumy State University teachers

In April 2024, the Sumy Regional Library hosted a traditional annual event – Vernadkyi readings. This year they were held for the 12th time. An invariable participant in all events for twelve years is Doctor of Economics. Leonid Melnyk, professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EPBA) of Sumy State University, director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This year, he delivered the lecture “Noosphere and Breakthrough Technologies: EU Experience and Ukrainian Practice.”

The lecture, which was held in interactive mode, was attended by students, teachers and the public of Sumy city. Given the harsh conditions of wartime, the lecture was held in a bomb shelter. The limited volume of the room could not accommodate everyone. Before the lecture, Prof. L. Melnyk donated his books to the regional library, in particular, the monograph “Additive Economy” and the popular science books “Mirkuvalka” and “Veseli uroky”. After the lecture, a round table was held, where the participants exchanged opinions.
