Tea Ceremony: Blending Cultures and Discovering Traditions

On April 10, 2024, teachers and students from the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration at Sumy State University (SumSU) immersed themselves in the world of tea culture at an event held at the Chinese Culture Center of SumSU Congress Center.

Thanks to the support of Yulia Nedbailo, the director of the “INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AGENCY” LLC, and Yevhen Kovalenko, an associate professor of the department, as well as the expertise of Olena Drozd, an expert in Chinese culture, the event participants had the opportunity not only to taste various types of Chinese tea but also to familiarize themselves with the authentic traditions of the tea ceremony.

The event was attended by Professor Leonid Melnyk, Associate Professors Oleksandr Kubatko and Inna Koblianska, and students Yuwei Jiang from the People’s Republic of China (2nd-year master’s student of the “Business Administration” program) and Anastasia Papusha (1st-year bachelor’s student of the “Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Stock Exchange” program).

The tea ceremony was not only an exploration of the rich world of tea traditions but also a wonderful opportunity for informal communication, cross-cultural learning, and building connections between teachers and students.

The Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration expresses its sincere gratitude to Yulia Nedbailo and Olena Drozd for organizing and conducting the tea ceremony.
