Study in Norway

Graduate student of specialty “Economics of Environment and Natural Resources” Mykyta Konovalov (group EE.m-42a/2y, Department of Economics and Business Administration, FEM) in 2014/2015 academic year studies at SSU and Nesna University College at the same time. The college is located in the beautiful country of Norway, in a small Nesna town with a population of about 1900 inhabitants, situated on the Atlantic coast. Nesna offers to plunge into the life of coastal communities far from the noisy mega-polis.

Nesna is a good example of successful implementation of regional policy in Norway, where educational, medical, public enterprises receive significant subsidies from the state budget for placement in small towns. Everything is set up to support the resettlement of citizens in areas where market forces can not create enough jobs.

Study at Nesna University College is possible both in full-time or distant form. To ensure the distance an interactive learning platform is developed where students at any moment can download lectures, write tests, communicate with teachers and students, learn university news. This platform also includes information about the students schedule and their study progress. For full-time students all conditions are provided in order to focus on their studies, namely: single student rooms, library buildings, apartments for couples, kindergarten, gym.

While studying at Nesna University College Mykyta has gained the experience in organizing and managing economic aspects of “Job market” with a budget of about 400 000 UAH., where students on their own organized the area for more than 90 companies to be able to find qualified young professionals.

Mykyta is sure that study abroad is interesting, useful, and noted that the resulting European experience and knowledge from Nesna University College can be successfully applied in practice at returning in Ukraine.
