In March 2024, an intensive course “Startup the first steps in business: EU and Ukrainian Experience” was held for students of the National University “Poltava Polytechnic named after Yury Kondratyuk”. The lecturers of the course were Bohdan Kovalov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University and Oleksandr Kubatko, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University.
Within the framework of the discipline, students got acquainted with the peculiarities of the creation and promotion of startups in the domestic and foreign markets. Special attention was paid to the institutional environment and stimulation of start-ups in the EU and the USA. Students got a general idea of the Lean Canvas business model for describing and adjusting startup activities.
During the meetings with students and teachers, Bohdan Kovalov additionally shared the experience of implementing the Jean Monnet Module and talked about the real opportunities for the development of startups in Ukraine despite the state of war.
