New textbook “Economics and Business” at Sumy State University

Recently, the world saw a new textbook prepared at the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration at SumDU: Economics and Business: a textbook / ed. Doctor of Economics, Prof. L.G. Melnyk; Doctor of Economics, Prof. O.I. Karintseva. Sumy: University Book, 2021. 316 p.

The textbook reflects current problems and the impact of economic laws on business structures. The textbook deals with the issues of the functioning of economic systems in the market. It has sections covering specific topics of transformational processes management. In particular, they address issues of enterprise development, innovation, business process initiation, and other relevant materials in today’s conditions.

Lecturers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and BA SumDU made the main contribution to preparing the textbook. Lecturers of other SumDU departments and Ukrainian universities and scientists and teachers from different countries (Belgium, Belarus, Spain, Latvia, and Germany) took part in preparing the textbook.

The textbook’s cover page is developed by a fourth-year student Maxym Kyrylenko, who major in Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities.

The textbook presents the results as a budget topic, which for three years was performed at the department under the leadership of Prof. L.G. Melnyk, and two Jean Monnet projects (Chair level): “Legislative, environmental and social transition of the EU to sustainable society within Industries 4.0 and 5.0” (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR) (2020-2023), project leader – Prof. L. Melnyk and “EU Economic Policies and Civil Society” (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR) (2020-2023), project leader –  Prof. O. Kubatko.
