Another book by L.G. Melnyk, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EEBA) of SSU, Director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education & Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the series “Scientist for Children”. Earlier, the book of this series “Window to the Future: Simple about Complicated” was published.
Prof. Leonid Melnyk is well known in the scientific community as the author of scientific papers and textbooks. This time he acts as a popularizer of scientific knowledge, because “Mysterious Universe” is a book of fairy tales. The scientist’s involvement in the popular genre is not accidental. Life is changing so fast that traditional education does not have time to prepare young people for future realities, nor to respond adequately to change. The dynamic genre of popular science literature makes it possible to somehow adapt to this situation and accelerate the acquaintance of both students and teachers with the most current technological breakthroughs and social challenges of today.
Although the characters of the book are fabulous and not serious at all, the reader will get acquainted with quite serious things – the depths of the material and information basis of the universe, to know about which is vital in modern conditions.
The work on the book is part of Jean Monnet’s EU research and educational projects (the Chair level), which are currently being implemented at the EEBA Department of Economics at SSU.
