During the November-December 2021 the International e-Course and Virtual mobility program was launched by Sumy State University. Oleksandr Kubatko has led the UNIT 1: “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Startup Ecosystem” for the students of four countries (Ukraine, India, Mauritius and Kenya). Oleksandr has spoken about “SME and start-ups in the Europe in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0”, which was supported by EU Jean Monnet grant “EU legislative, economic and social transition to sustainable society” (619997-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR). The course aimed to enrich the students’ knowledge on understanding SME and start-ups in the Europe with regards to Industries 4.0 and 5.0
Through case studies, best EU practices and panel discussions related to SME and start-ups in the EU in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0 were discussed.
The formation of Society 5.0 involves the creation of the internet of things, the active use of artificial intelligence (AI), the tremendous progress of biotechnology, the creation of new materials with unprecedented properties, the leading role of cyber-physical systems, the implementation of the control functions of cloud technologies, etc.
Good practices of European start-ups were provided for students within the course. The course examined operational and strategic challenges in start-ups, and provided an understanding of business planning techniques that transform ideas into viable commercial businesses. Students learned the market, organizational, operational, strategic and financial analyses that is required to produce a venture concept and an actionable business plan.
