EXPANDING INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS: SCIENTIFIC INTERNSHIP OF A DEPARTMENT PROFESSOR IN ARMENIA

During 19-29 March 2026, Iryna Sotnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration at Sumy State University, Dr. Sc. in Economics, Professor, participated in an international research mobility program at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (ISEC NAS RA).

The program of the research stay focused on the topic: “Transformation of Socio-Economic Systems Based on Solidarity and Inclusivity: Strategies for Sustainable Development.” As part of the mobility program, the researcher participated in the international interdisciplinary seminar-discussion “Decision-Making and Problem Solving,” serving as a keynote speaker. Her presentation focused on analyzing individual behavioral characteristics and incorporating psychological factors (such as risk perception and social trust) into economic decision-making processes under conditions of uncertainty.

The visit program also included:

  • Familiarization with the research infrastructure and laboratories of the ISEC NAS RA;
  • Delivering a guest lecture and leading a discussion for students and researchers at the Center;
  • Coordination meetings regarding the implementation of the joint scientific project №25RG-5A025, “Subjective Well-being and Social Stability in the Context of Overcoming Psychological Anomie,” funded by the Higher Education and Science Committee of Armenia.

Special attention during the program was given to discussing prospects for future cooperation, particularly in joint publication activities and the preparation of new grant applications within research frameworks.

The results of the internship will contribute to the implementation of modern interdisciplinary approaches in the educational process at the BiEM Institute, strengthen Sumy State University’s international ties, and support the integration of Ukrainian economic science into the global research community.
