On May 15, on the Day of Ukrainian Embroidery, a thematic presentation of books prepared by teachers, scientists and students of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EBA) of Sumy State University (SumDU) was held in the Sumy Regional Scientific Library.
The main topic of the presentation was the problem of introducing basic innovative technologies into society and forming the necessary socio-economic conditions for this. In particular, the need for society transition to horizontal distributed networks of organizing public communities of different levels was emphasized. A key feature of such organization is the possibility of implementing the principles: “the center is everywhere, the periphery is nowhere” and “levels are different”.
The effectiveness of such an organization is substantiated in the scientific works of scientists of the EBA Department. In particular, the scientific works investigated the need to combine the economic convergence of the country’s regions (leveling their production potentials) with their informational divergence (increasing the diversity of types of products manufactured). This is what makes it possible to significantly activate the movement of commodity and money flows and intensify the country’s production potential.
The effectiveness of the convergence transition and the implementation of the above principles (in particular, “equal in different”) has been proven by many real-life examples. Among them, first of all, we can mention: the victory of the protest of Sumy residents against the unification, and in fact, the destruction of Sumy universities. The resilience of Sumy residents and public life in Sumy during the month-long siege of the city by Russian invaders, the vitality (over 30 years) and effectiveness of the scientific conference of students and young scientists “Economics for Ecology” at the EPBA department, the unprecedented history of the Neplyuyev Brotherhood (about 50 years) in the Sumy region, the victory of two social revolutions in Ukraine, the activities of many non-governmental organizations in the Sumy region and in Ukraine.
The library was given more than a dozen copies of various types of literature: textbooks, monographs, popular and children’s books. The authors and creators of the books, including the drawings of their covers and illustrations, are the teachers and employees of the EPBA department, as well as students who study at the department and take an active part in the scientific life of the department according to the same principle: “equal in different”. It was noted that the educational process of the department is carried out on the basis of its own methodological literature (textbooks, manuals, dictionaries), that is, literature prepared by the department. By the way, most of the specified literature is in the collections of the US Library of Congress.
The event was attended by teachers of the EPBA department: Doctor of Economics, Professor Leonid Melnyk, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksandr Kubatko, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Oleksandr Matsenko, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Vyacheslav Voronenko, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Yuriy Mazin, Assistant Yuliia Zavdovieva, as well as students studying at the department.
The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere. The hall was attended by library staff, the public, journalists, schoolchildren, university students, specialists and heads of city enterprises.
In preparing the literature transferred to the library, the results of EU Jean Monnet project, “Disruptive technologies for sustainable development in conditions of Industries 4.0 and 5.0: the EU Experience” (101083435 — DTSDI — ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH) (2022–2025 were used. The project is currently being implemented at the EPBA department.
