On the initiative of the Sumy Regional Scientific Library, the 14th Vernadsky Readings were held at Sumy School No. 10 on 10 March 2026. For the fourteenth year in a row, teachers and scientists from the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EPBA) of Sumy State University have been introducing the public and young people of the city to the world’s achievements. Most of them were predicted by the great scientist, founder and first president of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Volodymyr Ivanovych Vernadsky.
Traditionally, the lecture was given by Leonid Melnyk, Director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Professor. The meeting was also addressed by the head of the Department of EPBA, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksandr Kubatko, second-year student of the Economics and Business programme, scholarship holder of the Sumy Regional State Administration Maria Dudka, and Lyudmila Bondarenko, librarian at the Regional Library.
The Department of EPBA presented the library and school with books prepared by the department’s teachers and researchers.
The lecture and speeches by representatives of the department drew on the results of work carried out as part of the Jean Monnet EU project, which is currently being implemented at the Department of EPBA of Sumy State University:
