As a result of the aggression against Ukraine in the ongoing war, our defender and graduate – Yevhen Markarov – was killed. Yevhen was not just a student to us, but also an embodiment of courage, justice, and authenticity.
He was a talented athlete and musician, always participating in various activities and initiatives at Sumy State University. Yevhen was also the head of his group E-21 (admitted in 2002) and was known among his classmates and teachers as a very reliable and kind person. And shortly before his death, he was awarded by the state (pictured).
The loss of Yevhen is a big blow to us. We honor his memory as a talented and unforgettable student who always sought to achieve the best results in everything he did. His strong spirit and bravery will remain in our hearts forever. May his family and loved ones find peace and strength in this difficult time for Ukraine.
