24 July 2015 Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of NAS of Ukraine in cooperation with the Sumy State University (SSU) in collaboration with leading research institutions and higher educational institutions of Ukraine and Poland, among them the Institute of Economic and Legal Research of the NAS of Ukraine, Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the NAS of Ukraine, NTU of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute”, Higher School of Economics and Humanities (Poland) and others in Sumy State University held the “round table” on “Sustainable development of the regions of Ukraine: economy, ecology, right”.
The Moderator of the event was the Head of the Department of economic issues of environmental policy and sustainable development of Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv) Prof. Yevgen Khlobystov.
In the active discussion of topical issues of sustainable development made presentations Prof. Yevgen Khlobystov, Prof. Sergei Illyashenko (SSU, Head of the Department of marketing and innovation management), D.Sc. Lubov Zharova (Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv), Ph.D. Natalia Yeremeeva (Institute of Economic and Legal Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv), Ph.D. Irina Segeda (NTU of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute”), Ph.D. Elena Shkarupa (Associate Professor, Department of Economics and Business Administration, SSU) and Ivan Shkarupa (Junior researcher, Department of Economics and Business Administration, SSU), Ph.D. Viktor Sabadash (Associate Professor, Department of Economics and Business Administration, SSU).
Closing remarks at the “round table” made Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumy State University, Prof. Olga Prokopenko.
The reports, scientists have described and analyzed the current problems associated with the deepening of the decentralization process, especially in the implementation of an effective regional policy in the context of the crisis in the national economy, calls for preservation of the state, the prospects of Ukraine’s European integration, overcoming the problems of power supply, effective energy dialogue and energy security of the country and market promotion of environmentally friendly goods and services. Particular attention was paid to the economic and legal issues of sustainable development and implementation of the state environmental policy of Ukraine. The reports prompted lively debate and discussion, which was attended by representatives of the faculty of SSU, NTU of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute”, NAS scientists and young scientists from Kyiv and Sumy.
