On September 26, 2023, the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration hosted an open lecture by Tetjana Tambovceva, Ph.D., Professor of Riga Technical University, on “Sustainable development and circular economy”. The lecture took place within the virtual student mobility program framework – a virtual class organised by the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration in cooperation with Riga Technical University – and represents one of the lectures in the cycle.
During the lecture, issues of content and modern understanding of the concepts of sustainable development and circular economy (CE) were considered and discussed. The main principles of the circular economy, the European vision of the future through the prism of the circular economy and the Green Deal, and the strategy of industrial symbiosis were considered. Tetjana Tambovceva outlined important theoretical provisions and concepts related to sustainable development and circular economy and demonstrated, using examples of companies and industries, how these ideas can be implemented in practice (in textile, construction, cosmetic and other industries).
The lecture was attended by students of specialities 051 Economics and 076 Entrepreneurship, trade and exchange activities, bachelor, masters and PhD degree holders (from groups E-11/1e, ЕН-02/1e, PTB-11/1пе, PTB-11/1пе- 2, Ez-01S, EN-01/1pe, EN-01/3pe-1, PTBz-11s, PTLm-21, PTLm-22, A-21/E), as well as employees of the department.
