Starting the first days of September, 2023 Jean-Marc TROUILLE (Jean Monnet Chair, Associate Professor, School of Management (University of Bradford, UK) has started online lecturing at Sumy state university within Jean Monnet Chair “EU Economic Policies and Civil Society” (619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR).
Jean-Marc TROUILLE is delivering lecturing for the students of Sumy state University (economic, engineering and law specialties) on “Basics of EU economy and economic policies”. Jean-Marc has provided empirical facts about Genesis of European construction and Institutions. He underlined that EU is NOT a standard international organization (since it consists of institutions, networks, laws, obligations, with economic, political and cultural ties). Also Jean-Marc stated that the main Founding objectives of EU are to: 1) Maintain peace and democracy among nations; 2) Maintain prosperity and promote free markets at home and abroad; 3) Provide political stability through enhanced economic cooperation; 4) Promote solidarity among member-states; 5) Promote a common European consciousness.
During the first lecturing the questings on “How the EU works today” and “The EU Policy Framework“ were discussed. The separate policies were addressed including: Competition policy, Transport policy, Social policy, Energy policy, Industrial policy, Common Agricultural Policy, Trade policy, etc. .
It is also planned to proceed lecturing on Economic and Monetary Union, including the Single European Market.
The students have an opportunity to discuss the peculiarities of EU integration and Basics of EU economy functioning. The first discussions with students are also started, when EU and UK perspectives were discussed.
