Application of statistical methods in digital marketing: online seminar by practitioner Anna Derykolenko

On Monday, April 13, 2020, within the framework of the discipline “Statistics”, an online seminar on the topic “Application of statistical methods in digital marketing” was held.
The seminar was moderated by FEM graduate, specialist in the field of digital marketing, Anna Derykolenko, who worked as a targetologist at Median ads & School, a sales manager at the VIP media group, an advertising manager at Elfa Laboratory LLC. The online seminar was organized by teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration, Ph.D., associate professor Oleksandr Matsenko, Ph.D., associate professor Oleg Dutchenko, Ph.D. Viacheslav Voronenko and Ph.D. Anatolii Pavlyk for 1st year students of the Oleg Balatsky ARI FEM and the ARI BT “UAB”. The seminar was also attended by the head of the Department Doctor of Economics, Professor Leonid Melnyk.

The main goal of the seminar was to give a clear idea of aspects and methods of applying statistics in digital marketing. Therefore, Anna Derykolenko talked about tools like Google Trends and Facebook that help marketers and researchers in statistical analysis. Students were clearly demonstrated the use of applications.

At the end of the online seminar, students had the opportunity to ask Anna questions about the optimal advertising budget of companies, the prospects for the development of digital marketing, the ups and downs, the best and worst episodes in their career, etc. In total, answers were received to about 30 students’ questions and provided useful tips on using social networks for statistical analysis.
