A roundtable discussion “Regional Innovation Strategy and the sustainable economic development”

May, 25 in Kyiv on the base of National Technical University of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute” Ukrainian Gosinformnauka together with the German technical cooperation bureau held a roundtable discussion titled “Regional Innovation Strategy and the sustainable economic development”.

The forum brought together representatives of science, the central executive authorities and the regional state administrations, presenting to the consideration nearly 20 reports on topical issues of innovation.

Sumy State University was represented by Head of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, Professor Leonid G. Melnyk, speaking on “Ecopolis as a regional scientific-industrial-educational system in the formation of innovation for sustainable development.” This project, developed in collaboration with Associate Professor Elena Vasilyevna Shkarupa and senior lecturer Burlakova Irina Mikhailivna, affects the basic organizational and economic aspects of the formation of a single complex for the production and implementation of priority directions of environmental product innovation as an example of Sumy region. During the discussions, Leonid G. Melnyk had the opportunity to share his own experience and also arouse GTZ-Office managers’ interest in their project.
