Young economists of Sumy State University conquer Lviv

At the IV International scientific conference «Theory and Practice of Banking», held in Lviv from 7 to 9 November, Irina Goncharenko (g. E-92) a student in «Economics of enterprise») presented Sumy State University. Overall, the conference was attended by more than 150 young scientists from leading universities of Ukraine, Poland and Belarus.

Dean of the Faculty of Banking LBI NBU M.L. Lapishko, deputy director for science and international work, A.A. Drugov, head of banking R.A. Slavyuk attended the opening ceremony. Representatives of Polesie State University and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Warsaw also welcomed opening the participants of the conference.

A plenary session and a series of thematic meetings on sections were held during the conference. The main areas discussed were interaction of banking and real sectors of the economy, the risk of the operation of banks in Ukraine and ways to minimize them, the international experience of banking and its importance for Ukraine, financial strategies in the face of increasing global financial instability, and the latest information technology and systems in banking.

Irina Goncharenko has prepared and successfully presented a paper on «Financial problems in the face of increasing global instability» (supervisor – Assoc. Department. Economics and BA, Ph.D. Matsenko A.M. The report aroused a considerable interest on the part of the participants, as reflected in the “avalanche” of questions that the student successfully answered.
After awarding the participants with certificates and closing the conference organizing committee made a memorable gift for young scientists – a sightseen tour around Lviv City. After the tour they all fell in love with this wonderful city with a rich history. All had pleasant memories about the meeting, as well as a pleasant experience of the conference.
