Professor Iryna Sotnyk’s Research Internship at the University of Maryland, Maryland, USA |
From September 2019 to February 2020, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of SSU, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Sotnyk had a research internship at the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, USA.
During the internship, a complex of research works was completed. Professor I. Sotnyk prepared 2 scientific papers on issues of the population energy poverty and the impact of utility subsidies on household energy efficiency, collected material for the third article on determining the factors influencing the energy efficiency of American and Ukrainian households. She published 2 articles in the journals included in the Scopus database, 1 chapter in the English-language monograph, edited and published 1 collective Ukrainian-language monograph, as well as the research project report.
Professor Iryna Sotnyk made a presentation about the features of renewable energy development in the world and Ukraine for the representatives of Shevchenko Scientific Society, New York, as well as a presentation about the mechanisms of economic incentives for the development of energy efficiency and renewable energy in Ukrainian households for teachers and scientists at the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics of the University of Maryland. She also participated in Fulbright Enrichment Seminar “Preserving and advancing rural economies” held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and had the opportunity to communicate with Swedish Ambassador to the United States Karin Olofsdotter at a meeting at the University of Maryland.
