Lecturer of Economics and Business Administration department completed training in EU Business School

In the period from 24.05.2016 to 07.06.2016 teacher of department of Economics and Business Administration assoc. prof. Burlakova Iryna trained under the program “Modern approaches and innovative techniques in business education: experience of EU Business School» (Barcelona, Spain, Munich, Germany).

EU Business School – an international business school, founded in 1973, combining traditional methods and innovative approaches to business education. According to Rating QS Top MBA EU Business School has included in the list of top 35 business schools in the world. EU program online MBA occupies the first place according to the ranking of CEO magazine. EU Business School offers undergraduate programs and magistracy in English in Barcelona (Spain), Munich (Germany), Geneva and Montreux (Switzerland). The Business School is a double degree program with the University of Roehampton in. London, UK.

As part of the training program the meeting was held with Olga Dedurina – Regional Manager of EU Business School in Eastern Europe, during which current trends and innovations in business education were discussed. In particular, each semester EU Business School students have the opportunity to change their place of study within the structure of the business school (campuses in Spain, Germany, Switzerland).The choice of specialization is made completely by student after passing core courses at the end of the first year. Special attention was focused on the importance of training in small groups and combining theory with practice through case studies of dynamic methods.

EU Business School actively introduces counseling on career development (career counseling) at various stages of training and two years after its completion. Academic activities include regular seminars (career workshops) on job search and place of employment, own brand creation, writing successful resumes and cover letters, building networks of professional contacts online and offline, improving the presence at LinkedLn and so on. Each week students meet with leaders in business, ambassadors, politicians and business school graduates (guest speakers) to get practical experience in their respective fields and create a powerful EU community in the world.

Business School takes part in regular professional job fairs (career fairs), in which representatives of leading international companies are invited to business school campuses with a view to meet and interview with its alumni. The school provides students with the possibility of regular training (internships) in companies that agree to work with students. One day in two weeks students are fully carried out in various national or international companies such as BMW and Siemens (industrial visits) for the testing of theoretical models on the examples of real business situations. For a long-term study tours students visit corporations, government and commercial organizations around the world to observe the work in various fields and meetings with the representatives of the companies.

While studying in Munich the seminar was also held by Veronica Cancio De Grandy on “Brand Management”, which caused a lively discussion in the group. In Barcelona business school’s division special interest has caused by the master class of professor J. Wetherell conducted on the impact of information technologies in various business sectors, such as the music business and trading using game theory.

Obtained during the course knowledge and experience demonstrate conformity of business education methods in SSU to modern European trends. Further development and improvement of training forms are able to bring business education of SSU to European standards. Prospects will help students acquiring communication and leadership skills, entrepreneurial skills and can provide additional benefits to our graduates in employment.
