A new textbook “Economics of Energy”

At the end of June 2015 a new textbook “Economics of Energy” was published by the author team of SSU scientists and teachers, edited by Prof., Doctor of Economics Melnyk L.G. and Prof., Dr. Sotnyk I.M.

In addition scientists from Belarus and Hungary, as well as from other universities of Ukraine made their own contribution to the textbook. The textbook was one of the last approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Unlike previous editions, the textbook includes in the traditional topics covered in the course “Economics of Energy”, new peculiarities concerning the formation of energy production costs and determination of the economic efficiency of capital investments in energy facilities. In addition, innovative sections of the textbook topics were devoted to the urgent issues of the economic potential of “green” energy in developed countries and Ukraine, the economic aspects of improving the reliability of power supply, power quality definition, organizational and economic means to ensure it.

The book is aimed at students of energy specialties and can also be useful for teachers and other professionals in Economics of Energy.
