On November 23, 2024, Associate Professor Inna Koblianska shared her experience in implementing Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses as a speaker at the \u201cFundamentals of Ukrainian-American Academic Partnerships\u201d training organized by EducationUSA Ukraine in Ternopil.<\/p>\n

During her presentation, she outlined the development of this form of international virtual mobility at Sumy State University. The first COIL course, launched in 2019, involved only 12 participants, and since then, the number of students engaged in different COIL courses at SumDU has grown significantly \u2013 up to over 900 students. The university’s partnerships for COIL courses have expanded to include institutions from more than 15 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n

Inna Koblianska highlighted specific COIL initiatives from the Institute of Business, Economics, and Management, including \u201cInternational Economics and Global Leadership,\u201d implemented by the Oleg Balatsky Department of Management in collaboration with U.S. partners over the past five years and \u201cPromotional Campaign on Sustainable Lifestyle at the Campus: COIL Course,\u201d currently offered by the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration, alongside the Department of Marketing, in partnership with U.S. institution this semester.\u00a0 In her presentation, she also covered the outcomes, impacts, and challenges of implementing these initiatives.<\/p>\n

COIL courses provide students with invaluable opportunities to enhance their intercultural communication skills, improve proficiency in foreign languages, and engage in dynamic and enriching learning experiences.<\/p>\n
