The German scientist, Dr., Professor Niko Shter turned to his Ukrainian colleague, Doctor of Economics, Leonid Melnyk, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration (EPBA) of Sumy State University, Director of the Research Institute of Development Economics of the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with a request to contribute to the publication in Ukrainian of his monograph “Modern Knowledge Societies”. The publication of Niko Shter’s book in Ukraine is the German scientist’s contribution to the reconstruction of our country based on digital technologies. The scientist himself financed the publication of the book in Ukrainian.<\/p>\n

The preparation of the book for publication was carried out within the EU Jean Monet project, which is currently being carried out at the EPBA department of Sumy State University. Scientific editing of the translation into Ukrainian was carried out by Doctor of Economics, Prof. Leonid Melnyk. He also wrote the foreword to the Ukrainian-language edition of the book.<\/p>\n

At the author’s request, copies of the book will be given to leading scientists of Ukraine dealing with the transition to a knowledge society and to the best students engaged in scientific work in this field.<\/p>\n

The other day, the book was received by Tetyana Stepura, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Business and Investment Economics of the Lviv National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. It deals with issues of human capital during the transition to the knowledge society.<\/p>\n
