\nExpert Committee Meeting on Sumy Region Development Strategy Elaboration by 2020\t\t\t<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

\nOn September 29 an enlarged meeting of the Steering Committee for the development of the EU project “Sumy Region Development Strategy by 2020”. It was dedicated to the fourth stage of the development strategy elaboration, which dealt with the “region\u2019s (brand) vision” and “region\u2019s mission”. Forms and methods were discussed for transition to the development of specific projects in implementing strategic objectives. These goals were discussed and approved by the public at the previous stage. EU project moderators were: Petro Mavko and Vasyl Kashevsky under supervision of Yuri Tretiak.<\/p>\n

\nDr.E., Prof. L.G. Melnyk<\/a>, head of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, who attended the meeting offered his own versions of “region\u2019s (brand) vision ” and “region\u2019s mission”, which were prepared by a group of SSU scientists. These variants were positively welcomed by regional experts groups meeting participants. It was decided to finalize their version till the next session of the Regional Council, at which Strategy will be adopted (December 2014).<\/p>\n

\nPreparatory versions of the proposed “region\u2019s (brand) vision” are as follows:<\/p>\n

\na) Land for environmental innovation forming and “green” economy development<\/em>. Region of harmonious combination of natural and human capital, which is a prerequisite for development of: information technologies, innovative engineering, organic farming, “green” economy, alternative energy and creative work.<\/p>\n

\nb) Sumschyna – territorial EKOPOLIS<\/em>: scientific-industrial-educational complex for the production of ecological goods.<\/p>\n

\nPreparatory version of the “region\u2019s mission”:<\/p>\n

\nSave and increase the natural capital of the region, turning it in a combination with human capital into the main source of wealth and sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
