A particular focus is on the role of the Third and Fourth Industrial Revolutions in the formation of prerequisites for sustainable development. Specifically, general strategies as well as instruments enabling creation of sustainable economy in the basic sectors (such as energy, transport, construction, agriculture) are investigated. The research systematically compares the key features of \u00abbrown\u00bb (traditional) and \u00abgreen\u00bb (sustainable) economies.
